Tuesday we traveled to Apple Annie's in Willcox in search of the Great Pumpkin. Last year's adventure with my sister is now one of my favorite memories. This year I convinced Trent to take the day off to help us hunt down the perfect pumpkin. He took the task seriously and meant business as he inspected various possibilities. His final selection was so large that I questioned if we could actually fit it into the trunk next to the stroller. Thankfully, Brooke talked him into a slightly smaller one. (A sacrifice on his behalf that he has mentioned numerous times since the pumpkin picking ceased. Next year I'll just let him have his way.) Ty frolicked in the patch and was completely in his element running up and down the patch, kicking small gourds and trying to heave large ones back to us. This kid needs a yard.Brooke's choice. With a little guidance from her mother.

Ty thoroughly examined the chosen pumpkin before giving it his stamp of approval. He has hugged it periodically since we brought it home and even gave it a kiss goodnight tonight. Strange child.
What a ham!The daddy

Upon leaving Apple Annie's, we enjoyed grinders and a black raspberry slurpee at Eegees in Tucson. We meandered home in no real hurry with 4 full bellies, 3 pairs of sunburnt cheeks, 2 pumpkins, one fresh apple pie and a very happy family.

Looks like fun! Maybe next year Jack will be old enough to try that! Day outings can be fun, when they don't turn into sagas like yours did last year! Thanks for sharing!
What a great day! Thanks for sharing.
Cute as a pumpkin. Love the pics. And "The Mama" is looking mighty fine! :)
That place is BEAUTIFUL! I totally want to go now! What a fun tradition :)
I hope to go there someday, it looks so great! Glad you had fun and that there weren't any "adventures" during your traveling!
