Blake Family Reunion - Day 2

We visited the beach twice on Saturday. We went in the morning with just our little family. It was incredibly windy and cloudy the first part of the day, but the kids had fun regardless.

We went again in the afternoon with the rest of the family. Grammy brought shovels and pails, and plenty of kites. We spent a few hours playing on the shore and flying kites until Ty practically passed out from exhaustion.

Isn't it obvious that daddy is and will always be Ty's hero?
I love watching these two together and am thankful for their special bond.

Since we've been home (almost 2 weeks) Ty has asked to go to the beach every single day. Maybe I need to ship him off to Grammy's house for the rest of summer? But I'd miss him too much.

That evening Valerie made delicious clam chowder for dinner and we had another round of smores. Sadly, Brooke took a tumble in a thorny bush and scraped up her beautiful face. In true Blake fashion, the crying ceased once a sugar treat was offered. Just before bedtime, the uncles put on a fireworks show for everyone.


All the kids got to hold a sparkler. Ty fell asleep before this part of the show but Brooke was more than willing to play with fire.
