The Purple Dragons

Soccer season was a family affair at our house this spring. Trent was excited to coach the team and it was fun to load up the family every Wednesday night and head to soccer practice.  We had a team of seven boys (the eigth never showed up) and often only five of the boys would show up to the game for whatever reason - so Ty got a lot of play time. The team was a little bummed we got purple jerseys at first, but they came up with the fierce name "The Purple Dragons" and then everyone was pretty proud to wear purple.

Ty was a pretty good player and scored nearly every game. By the end of the season, his coach was encouraging him to pass the ball to the other players so they could try to make a goal as well. One of the other kids on the team was in our ward and it was fun to spend time with the Ramirez family twice a week. We miss seeing them so frequently now that the season is over!

I'm sure I'm a little biased, but I thought Trent was a great coach. He tried to make sure everyone got equal playing time and did his best to teach them some skills. Not an easy task with a group of 4 and 5 year old wiggly boys.

We are excited to play soccer again in the fall!
