Behold, the Egg

Rosie finally produced her first egg this weekend. We've heard her squawking a bit for a few days and knew it was just a matter of time. We are looking forward to many more eggs from the hen house. Maybe we'll even get her a new friend since Pete (who turned out to be a rooster) died a few months ago.

The hen of the hour.

Ty asked his daddy to take a picture of him this afternoon. Then he wanted everyone else to get their picture taken as well. Trent complied with the following picture. Ty giggled so hard that he insisted everyone get a picture with a funny face. For your viewing pleasure:

We are all so easily amused around here.

And a HUGE thank you to Grandpa and Grandma Anderson for the early Christmas present.
It was completely unexpected and very exciting for all of us.

You guys crack me up over there with your "under-cover" chickens & roosters--I'm so sad that your rooster died, btw. You should fry that egg up & see if it's any good. : )

I'm afraid my dreams of having chickens are going to be dashed to pieces when we move. But is an HOA rule really a law of the land that I should adhere to? :)

Yay and egg! Can we come play with your new toy? That trampoline looks fun! :)

Ok, is that egg really small or do you have man-hands? Oh and how exciting to have a trampoline!
