October 2011

I am in serious catch up mode. Now I know why most of my blogging friends quit blogging after their 3rd child. Not necessarily because they don't want to blog, just because finding more than 5 minutes to upload pictures and recount family events is nearly impossible!

Fall is one of our favorite times of year. We usually take a day trip to Apple Annie's to pick our pumpkin, possibly catch the Graham County Fair, and frequent some fun Halloween parties at friends homes. This year our outings weren't feasible with a new babe, but we still had some fun.
Dress up didn't wait til Halloween for Miss B. This particular morning she came out of her room donning every single accessory she could find. Trent, Brody and I spent Halloween Saturday in Flagstaff attending a wedding, but our trusty babysitters Claire and Emily spent the entire day doing fun things with Ty and Brooke. They carved pumpkins, made art projects, went on an outing and the girls even took them to our ward trunk or treat - even though they don't go to our church. Oh the benefits of having twin sisters, both with early childhood education degrees, watching the kids! When we got home than evening, the kids whined because they didn't want the girls to leave them.

I tried to make the best of being homebound during October.

We painted pumpkins...
built a spooky, haunted house with daddy....

Trent met up with his brothers family at Vertuccio Farms to pick a pumpkin and play...

Other October happenings:

Brooke decided she wanted to try potty training the day before Brody was born.

8 weeks later and we're still working on it.
Ty practiced being a super big brother. He adores his "widdow buddy" (little buddy)

Brooke tested the stovetop out to see if it really was hot.

And we had our first round of illness when the weather started to change.

I actually stayed home from church for 6 whole weeks with Brody (I've never stayed home that long before) and I had at least one of the kids home sick with me 5 out of those 6 weeks. So much for alone time with the baby! :)
